I read this in a USA Olympic book about women's softball.  We haven't tried it yet but it sounds great. 

Using 4 different colors draw a Quarter sized circle on each practice ball.  When taking infield practice the girl must call out the color of the circle when fielding the ball.  This teaches them to concentrate on the ball and following it into their glove.
