Hueytown All Stars
A Tradition of Excellence! 

The Hueytown All Star Teams are teams that are picked by all of the coaches in a particular league.  These players exhibit exceptional skills and/or attitudes which the coaches believe will make them work together as a team and to represent the park as players and hopefully, champions. 

Parents must sign a consent form for their child to be considered for the All Star Team. If we have a consent form, then the players name is added to a list for the coaches to consider.  All coaches in the league fill out a ballot with their top 12 candidates.  

• Players that get unanimous votes make the team.  

• Players with no votes are removed from consideration.

• Remaining candidates that received at least 1 vote make up the pool for the next round of voting.

This process continues until 12 players are selected.

This is not a perfect process and at time can become quite stressful as coaches disagree on who should be a part of the team.  There are only 12 positions and usually quite a few more girls that would be qualified to be on the team.

As the selection process nears the end, concessions have to be made.  At times the coaches may decide to let the All Star Team Coach (The coach who won the league championship) make the final 1 or 2 decisions.  Regardless, all coaches must be in agreement when they leave the selection meeting.

This process, which is sometimes long and stressful, is to insure the fairest and best team possible to represent the park.
