Hueytown Girls Fastpitch Softball was awarded a $2000 grant from the Field of Dreams contest. The contest is for local programs that could use funds for upgrades and special projects at their park. The Field of Dreams contest is sponsored by Buffalo Rock, Piggly Wiggly and Clear Channell Radio.
Traci Franklin and Jason Kirby, 2011 Board Members submitted an essay to this contest regarding improvements and/or projected plans for an additional field to host larger tournaments to bring in revenue for the park.
Charlie Burton, 2011 Board Member President shown in the picture, accepted the grant on behalf of the park.
A BIG THANKS to everyone involved in making this happen! We are looking forward to the 2012 Spring Season.
