The 6U All Stars go undefeated once again to win the State
Championship and bring home the trophy to Hueytown!! In
temperatures over 100 degrees these girls played their hearts out
and defeated some really good teams in State including the Home Team
Millbrook in the championship!
The 8U team finished 5th
in their tournament taking two of the team to 7 innings!
The teams did great this
year and the whole park should really be proud of them. These
girls and parents represented our park very well, and the girls will
take home the memories of this All Star season and hold them for the
rest of their lives.

Top 10
Reasons You Know You Spend Too Much Time at the Hueytown Ballpark
by
Cheryl Wray
10. You
spend all your extra money on hair bows, bracelets, and various
accessories to coordinate with your team uniform.
9. Two weeks after the end of ball season, your daughter asks, "When
do we start softball again?"
8. You actually shed a tear when a tornado warning cancels your
game.
7, Your entire wardrobe consists of softball registration shirts,
"Player's Parent" shirts, and old coach jerseys. (You've even been
known to wear them to church!)
6. You send off for softball scholarship information from your
favorite university (and your daughter's only seven-years-old).
5. Your idea of a romantic date night with your spouse consists of
huddling up under a blanket together on the bleachers and toasting
each other with a Dr. Pepper.
4. You have a record of your team's batting average, strike out
percentage, and on base percentage in an Excel Spreadsheet program
(and, oh yeah, you have it for every other team in your league).
3. You wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, screaming
out, "Hey batter look at me, I'm a monkey in a tree."
2. The only time "Sweetie," "Darling," or "Angel" is used in your
house is when it refers to your daughter's league.
(Little
out of date but Sweetie, Darling, and Angel were the old Dixle
leagues for 6U, 8U, and 10U)
1. Your idea of a balanced meal is: Chicken Fingers (meat), Fried
Green Tomatoes (vegetable), Cheese Sticks (dairy product), and Green
Apple Airheads (fruit).
